Drew and Jessica Smith started Smith Burger as a food truck in 2021 and quickly grew into a smashing success in the CU food scene. They quickly expanded into the kitchen at Collective Pour in Downtown Champaign, and added more food trucks.

Now they’ve expanded into The Yard on Broadway as owners of the food hall and an anchor restaurant in the space.

Voted CU’s #1 Burger multiple times in the News-Gazette’s People’s Choice Award, Smith Burger has perfected the art of smashing beef into tasty treats.

Come for the Smash Burgers, stay for the Rippers, Salads, Sandwiches, and more!

Watson’s started in 2016 with their Downtown Champaign location called Watson’s Shack & Rail. They expanded into a Food Truck, a stall at Memorial Stadium, and now a location here at the Yard on Broadway in Urbana!

The Champaign location features southern and cajun-inspired fare with a focus on Hot Chicken sandwiches, and here at the Yard they have focused on the famous sandwiches from the Shack and added some exclusives like the popular Midwest Beef & Cheddar and Chicken Caesar Wrap.

Often a winner of Best Chicken in CU, you gotta try the Hot Tenders and Waffle Fry Nachos!

The Regal Pig is a Pizza and Oven Baked Grinders concept created by Drew Smith for the Yard. Currently it’s our only location!

Regal Pig features individual sized 9-inch pizzas and 6 or 12-inch oven-baked grinders, all made-to-order, directly for you!

Fernando’s started as a food truck and quickly gained popularity in Downtown Champaign. A staple of the late night scene, they opened their first physical location on campus, expanding to their current Champaign location on Town Center Blvd when the first one was demolished for new development on the block.

Fernando’s offers some of the best street tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, and customers LOVE their homemade salsa verde.

Columbia Street Roastery started in 1998, an extension of a 3 generation family business that goes back to 1951! They’ve brought quality coffee to central Illinois and beyond…chances are, if you’ve had a cup of coffee in CU, you’ve had Columbia St.

This is their first official café location, and we’re proud to have them! Their hours are a little different than the rest of the Yard, as they are open Monday - Friday 6am to 2pm and opening at 7am on the weekends.

The Main Scoop started in Mahomet in 2021, and has since exploded all over central Illinois, with additional locations in Monticello, Rantoul, Paxton, Urbana!

Each of our flavors is one-of-a-kind; at once inventive and familiar, indulgent and delicate, textured and smooth. Whether you try our ice cream on its own or on top with some sprinkles (because who doesn't love sprinkles!), you’ll grin from ear to ear.
